“Man, I HATE it when you pick fights all the time…” I wiped my face off with the sleeve of my trench coat.

“Yeah, but you always hang in there and ‘fight the good fight’ huh?” Crow was casually sitting on a nearby ledge.

“It’s not like you helped; all you did was start it-”

“But I finished it too.” Damn, he sure did have a way with snarky comments.

“Only after I had taken care of him most of the way!”

“Yeah, but you would’ve had your butt handed to you if I hadn’t come in.” He licked his lips, cleaning off the small dribble of blood leftover.

“…OR, you could’ve helped out FROM THE VERY BEGINNING! After all, THEY ONLY ATTACK ME FOR CHRIST‘S SAKE!!!”

“Ehh, quit whining. You know you can hold your own for a bit. I’m just here to…draw out the ‘bad people’ as they’d like to say; you know I don‘t like to fight direct-”

“Yeah, but it’s not like you’re an angel or anything.”

He shrugged. “So? Think that changes anything about YOUR purpose? If you wanna get rid of evil, sometimes…you need a little help from evil.”

“And WHY are you helping me?”

“Well, because I don’t wanna be stuck here doing nothing; and besides: it keeps you active, doesn’t it?” He tipped me a wink. “Why do you even bother TRYING to help people?”

“…I believe I can…I can see things in ways others choose not to, because they do not want to see the truth, rather their own version of the truth.” I looked back at him, as he was staring up at the stars. “Why do you instigate so much?”

“To draw out those that need your help. I’ll admit, it’s not the most ‘useful’ way, and I know you might be worried about your soul a bit; but it sure does get the job done, ehh?”

“Crow…” I shook my head. “Crow, you are one hell of an asshole…but your help is sometimes just what I need.”

“Hey, quit flattering me. After all, YOU’RE the one who has the most impact on others; we need each other, much as I don’t like it. Birds of a feather, ehh?”

“Yeah…here comes another one. Get ready.” I pulled out my ‘crucifix’ as I called it, and Crow merely glanced back over his shoulder and smirked.

“What, not gonna help again?”

“No; go for the feet this time; you could use a bit of info from this guy.” Crow leaned back on one arm, still looking outwards.

“Kay. Got it.”

“…The universe is so amazing…I want it all…to have it all…”

“Crow?”

“…Nothing. I’ll back you up if you really need it.”

“Which means you won’t. Great. Thanks.” I said sarcastically.

“No problem Raven ‘ol buddy.” I could tell he was enjoying this.
