Love.
Strange how it works.
How it can strike us when we’re
not expecting.
When you somehow know
No science
Can explain it
You just know
‘Cuz you know
Some distant pheromones
Something picked up
Some animalistic key being turned
In our organized minds.
You see them and just know.

Why?

What I’ve
Failed
To ever see-
How?
You do it so readily and easily
-Loving someone is giving them the power to hurt you
And hoping that they don’t-
You take these
Strange urges
And act upon them.
And when you fall from you happy-high
You wonder where
It all went wrong
I can’t say,
It’s not my position,
But-

How can you love so easily?
Hoping for that one special something…

Love is free
But sometimes, oh
It can cost so much.
